GERTRUDE THOMPSON
Mrs. Gertrude Thompson, 92, of 704 W. Power, St., died at 3:53 p.m. Wednesday at her residence following a short illness.
A resident of Victoria since 1928, Mrs. Thompson was born Nov. 20, 1887, in Mission valley in Comal County, to the late Edward J. and Martha Elizabeth Hubenthal Jentsch. Her husband, H. F. Thompson, died in 1950.
A member of First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of United Methodist Women, Mrs. Thompson was a member of North American Benefit Association, a 60-year member of the Pioneer Club and a member of Rosebud Rebekah Lodge.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at McCabe-Carruth Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Allen, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Hester W. Evans of Victoria and Mrs. Ernest Watson of Houston; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Thompson, 92, who died at 3:53 p.m. Wednesday at her home at 704 W. Power St., will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the McCabe-Carruth Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Allen officiating.
Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery with McCabe-Carruth Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be A. W. Krueger, Jack Morrison Sr., Charles R. Lewis, Dr. Charles Borchers, George Bagnall and Merlyn Goldman.
