Malden-Britton B. Bailey, 76 year old retired merchant and barber, died Sunday at 5:25 p. m. in the Doctors Hospital in Poplar Bluff.
A resident of this area since 1922, he was born May 15, 1893 in Murray, Kentucky (Census say Henry County Tennessee).
On Nov 23, 1953 he married Mrs.Elsie Bridgeforth in Piggott, Ark. (Obituary doesn't mention 1st wife. He married Pansy Blossom Glaser in Hickman, KY on Dec 25th 1919. she died 1952)
Survivors include his wife, three sons, Billy Glaser, Charles "Richard", and Galen Rudolf Bailey, all of Malden, MO, one daughter Miriam LaNelle Sturgeon of Malden, four step-daughters, Mrs. Margaret Ann Wicker, Sacramento, CA, Mrs. Bernice Green and Mrs. Marylin Hollis, both of Malden; and Mrs. Jean Ward of Cleveland OH; one step-son Carl Bridgeforth, U.S. Air Force stationed in Vietnam; two sisters, Mrs Mattie Bailey Lane, Jackson, MS, and Mrs Mandy Townsend, Granite City, IL and 22 grandchildren.
Funeral Servicees will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Landess Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Donald Clark will officate and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, MO
