Mike and his parents came to the Taber area in 1929 and worked as farm labour until they purchased their own land two miles west of Taber on Huckleberry Road. He attended school in both Barnwell and Taber. He married Alice Zaremba from Regina, Saskatchewan on January 1, 1942. Mike’s first love was his wife Alice, his children and grandchildren, whom he always cherished spending time with. Mike enjoyed traveling and often took his grandchildren camping. His second love was farming and that was where they raised their family of five girls and one boy. He lived his faith on a daily basis and willingly served on his Church Board, taught Sunday School and enjoyed being a Greeter. The last number of years he was a leader of the Seniors Group. Mike was also instrumental in starting the local Gideons Camp and was the President for twenty years.
