Obituary - Red Deer Advocate - Red Deer, Alberta, Canada - 14 Feb 1934, Wed • Page 1

It was a shock to the community last Tuesday evening to learn that Walden-Mrs. J. G. Blish had passed away ; suddenly. Mr. and Mrs. Blish came to Alberta from Welsh, Louisiana, U.S., and took up a homestead in the Rainy Creek community, 5 miles southwest of the village. They were among the pioneers of that district and lived there several years, later moving to Bentley where Mr. Blish engaged in the mercantile business. Mrs. Blish stood high ln the esteem of all who knew her, and many will regret her passing. Funeral services were held at the Community Hall on Friday, February 9, and were largely attended. Rev. Mr. Richardson, Calgary, officiated. Interment took place in the Bentley cemetery. Besides her husband, she leaves one son, Eugene Blish of Bentley, and five daughters Mrs. Finley Kelso, Mrs. Lonsdale and Miss Lily Blish, of Bentley; Mrs. Alice Harper of Vancouver, and Mrs. Ethel Davidson of Field, B.C. Mr. and Mrs. Davidson and daughters, Patricia and Audrey, returned to their home at Field on Sunday, having been called here by the death of Mrs. Davidsons mother, (Mrs, J. G. Blish).
