Alma was born May 28, 1922 in Merryville, Louisiana to Claude and Bertis Matthews.
Alma is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Henry Sheffield; a grandson, Douglas Ray Bailey; and one brother, C.D. Matthews.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Hockenbury and husband Jim of Kirbyville; Emma Rolak and husband Arnold of The Woodlands; grandchildren, Joey Richardson and wife Barbara, James Bailey and wife Debra, Claude Richardson, Curtis Bailey and wife Pam, Tommy Richardson and wife Trish; fifteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
