Galesburg, Ill. - Florence Katherine (Mather) Ivy, 93, Galesburg, formerly of Tarkio, Mo., passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012, at her home in Galesburg.

Preceded: parents, Ebenezer Romans and Alta Mae (Janes) Mather; husband, Harry Hamilton Ivy; four sisters, Alesta Smith, Marion Langston, Esther Bogue and Wyona Perry; and brother, Paul Mather.

Survivors: two daughters, Phyllis (Keith) Ottmann, Rock Port, Mo. and Sue Smith, Galesburg; four grandchildren, Stacy (Roger) Bundridge , Maryville, Mo., Ryan (Rachel) Ottmann, Rock Port, Nancy (Tim) Shipley, Maryville and Catherine (Tommy) Likes, Dunlap, Ill.; two great-grandchildren, Jansen and Skylar Bundridge; and many nieces and nephews.

Service: 10 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2012, First Baptist Church, Tarkio. Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio. There is no scheduled family visitation. Open visitation will begin at 10 a.m. today, at Davis Funeral Home.

Florence Katherine (Mather) Ivy, the daughter of Ebenezer Romans and Alta Mae (Janes) Mather, was born June 25, 1919, in St. Edward, Nebraska. In 1927 she and her family moved to Westboro, Missouri, where she attended and graduated from Westboro High School.

On July 3, 1941, Florence was united in marriage to Harry Hamilton Ivy. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage together. To this union, two daughters were born; Phyllis and Sue. Harry passed away in November of 1986.

Early in their marriage, they made their home in St. Joseph, Missouri, where Florence worked at the Douglas Candy Company. In the mid 1940's they moved to Tarkio where Florence enjoyed being a stay at home mom raising her daughters. In 1959 she was employed by the Tarkio College as a cook and then the Tarkio Schools and Northview Manor Nursing Home. For four years following Harry's death Florence moved to Rock Port to live closer to her daughter Phyllis and her family. In 1990 Florence was united in marriage to Dale Kendrick and they made their home in Galesburg, Illinois to live closer to her daughter Sue and granddaughter Catherine. Dale passed away in 1995. Florence then made her home with Sue who faithfully cared for her until her passing. She enjoyed being a homemaker and spoiling her grandchildren. Florence passed away peacefully at her home in Galesburg, Illinois, with her daughters by her side on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at the age of 93.

Besides her parents and husband, Harry, Florence was preceded in death by four sisters; Alesta Smith, Marion Langston, Esther Bogue and Wyona Perry and brother, Paul Mather. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Ottmann and husband, Keith, Rock Port, Missouri, and Sue Smith, Galesburg; four grandchildren, Stacy Bundridge and husband, Roger, Maryville, Missouri, Ryan Ottmann and wife, Rachel, Rock Port, Nancy Shipley and husband, Tim, Maryville, and Catherine Likes and husband, Tommy, Dunlap, Illinois; two great-grandchildren, Jansen and Skylar Bundridge; and many nieces and nephews.

Services: 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 8, 2012, First Baptist Church, Tarkio.
