Mr. Willie Lee Ellison Sr., age 65, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday evening after a short illness at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. He was an Effingham County native, but resided in Bulloch County for many years. He was formerly employed with Roscoe Laircey Company of Statesboro. He was a member of Pentecostal Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Connie Huff Ellison of Statesboro, Ga.; two sons, Mr. Willie Ellison Jr. of Metter, Ga., and Mr. Larry Ellison of Alexandria, Va.; one stepson, Mr. Robert Huff of Statesboro, Ga.; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Beatrice Huff of Portal, Ga.; four sisters, Mrs. Olla Mae Mingle, Mrs. Bernice (Lensy) Burns and Mrs. Mary Hargove, all of Sylvania, Ga., and Mrs. Laura (Leroy) Williams of Millen, Ga.; two brothers, Mr. Prince (Darlene) Ellison of Sylvania, Ga., and Mr. Charlie (Mable) Ellison of Savannah, Ga.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
The graveside service will be held Thursday, December 3, 2009, at noon in Eastside Cemetery, Statesboro, Ga., with Bishop Frank Key as eulogist and Elder Donnell Harden, presiding. The family will receive family and friends at Pentecostal Church of God, 125 Morris Street, after the service. Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel in charge of services.
