Mrs. South was a 23 year resident of the area, when she died at her home, 1214 S Westmoreland, of diabetes.
Her husband was James C South
Her parents were Elijah Jones and Eugenia Bush, both of GA
She was buried in a white dress.

Relationship: Mary Jones was the granddaughter of Kindred Madison "Matt" Jones, age 38 in the 1860 Laurens Co., GA Census was 38. He was married to Elizabeth Minnes (also seen Mims) age 32. They were married 27 Nov 1845 Laurens Co., GA (license dated 25 Nov 1845.) Their children were: William A, 13; Elizabeth A, 12; Elijah T., 10; Subelia A, 9; Jacob M, 7; Mary M, 5; "Tom" M 4 (listed by transcriber as Grover?); Charles W, age 3 and Martha C, age 1.
