With heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Jane Dunphy, age 46, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in North Sydney, Margaret was the daughter of Percy Dunphy and the late Amelia (Robinson) Dunphy. She had a great love for animals, especially her dogs Chili and Levi and enjoyed walking. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
Margaret is survived by her father, Percy Dunphy, Florence; her brothers, Billy (Veronica) Dunphy, Ottawa, Bruce Dunphy, North Sydney; sisters, Darlene (Paul) MacLeod, Sydney Mines, Belinda (John) Romeo, River Bourgeois and several nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses on 4B and palliative care at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and also Fr. Paul MacGillivary, Fr. Bernard O'Connor and Mae O'Connor and special friends, Paula Terry, Debbie Sakalauskas, Mary Philips, Barry and Eleanor Cooke.
There will be no visitation by request. Funeral mass for Margaret will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Patrick O'Neill officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
