Robert Walter Lewis married Mathilde 'Pinky' Lenora Staples, the daughter of L.G. Staples and Adeline A. Staples, in the Methodist Church at Ocean Springs, Mississippi in March 1879.

Children: Robert Walter Lewis, Jr. (1886-1904) and Ora May Lewis married Dr. Robert H. Davis in January 1911 at Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

OBIT
Died-At 8 a.m., last Monday, August 2, 1886, Mr. Robert W. Lewis, died at his home, in Moss Point, after a long and painful illness. He was the eldest son of the late Colonel Alfred E. Lewis, of this County. His remains were taken to West Pascagoula, last Tuesday and interred by the side of his deceased father, near the old homestead where he was reared. He leaves a wife, three small children, aged mother, and several brothers and sisters.
