Born in Carnesviile, Ga.. he was a son of the late Joseph Marcus and Martha Broome Abbott.
He was retired President of Forrest Abbott Co., Food Brokers.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Men's Bible Class and the Greenville Country Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Abbott Irzyk of West Palm Beach, Fla. and Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Abbott Quarles of Gastonia, N.C.; a son, Forrest A. Abbott of Greenville; four sisters, Mrs. W.J. Tucker and Mrs. R.G. Bryant both of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Jewell Adams of Seneca and Mrs. Weaver Barrett of Candler, N.C.; a brother, Will Abbott of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. at The Mackey Mortuary by Dr. C. David Matthews and Dr. Bryan Crenshaw.
Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Seneca.
The body is at the mortuary.
The family is at the home.
It is respectfully requested that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the Building Fund at the First Baptist Church, 847 Cleveland St., Greenville, 29605.
