Charles D. Tuttle, a lifelong resident of Ashland, passed away on Wednesday evening, November 27, 1929, at about 9 o'clock, aged 59 years, 9 days. Although his condition had been considered serious, his death was a shock to his family and neighbors. He was a kind husband and father and a good neighbor and friend; always ready to do for the sick and afflicted. He surely will be missed. His nearest survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary Wood Tuttle, one son; Lloyd Tuttle, of West Settlement; one daughter, Mrs. Wm. Griffin, of Walton; five grandchildren, one brother, Stewart Tuttle, of Palenville; two sisters, Mrs, Elmer Hull of Johnson Hollow, and Mrs. Thomas Carr of Haines Falls. Interment was in Grand Gorge Cemetery.
