Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Lutes, 66 and 44, of Hebron, were killed in the collision of their car and an empty gasoline transport truck just east of Sutherland on U.S. Hwy. 30 Oct. 14. Both occupants of the car were thrown clear.

The trucker, Alva Webb, 39, of Central City, who was not injured, told investigating officers that the eastbound Lutes car pulled out into his lane in an attempt to pass a line of vehicles and although he pulled off the right side of the roadway he was unable to avoid the crash.

The car climbed up the front of the truck and when it came to a halt the truck bumper was protruding from the roof of the car.
