Virginia Ann Grafton, 81, of Lake Quivira, Kansas, ascended into heaven on October 2, 2012. She was greeted by her loving husband, Jack, whom she adored with all her heart. Virginia was the second child born to Dan and Marie Ames on December 29, 1930. Her parents along with her sister Catherine Woodsmall, all preceded her in death.

Virginia and Jack were married November 26, 1949, and to this union three children were born: John Grafton and wife Glenda of Overland Park, Scott Grafton and soul mate, Mary of Roeland Park; and Cindy O'Connor and husband, Brad of DeSoto. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren: Michelle, Amber, Jennifer, Christopher, Morgan, and great-grandchildren, Damien, Paige, Reese and Jack.

The family would like to express a special thanks to all the caregivers at KU Medical Center while keeping their mother comfortable and the loving care they provided for her the last few weeks of her life.

Honoring Virginia's request, a cremation will take place with a Visitation from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 7, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
