Los Angeles Herald - January 6, 1908:

MRS. A. NEWMARK LAID TO REST IN FAMILY VAULT

Simple but impressive services marked the funeral of Mrs. Augusta Newmark yesterday morning at the home of her son, M. H. Newmark, 905 Beacon street.

Mrs. Newmark had long been popular in Los Angeles Jewish circles. A large number of friends gathered at the funeral.

Dr. S. Hecht, rabbi of the Temple B'nai B'rith, conducted the service and made an earnest address on the life and work of the departed wife and mother.

The high esteem in which the deceased was held was attested by the large number of beautiful set pieces and cut flowers sent to her home.

Interment was made in the family vault in the Home of Peace cemetery. The committal service was read in front of the vault and completed as the casket was placed in the niche.

The pallbearers were J. Lowe, Leon Loeb, E. J. Levey, Phil Newmark and P. Lazarus.
