Elsie Mae Goeken, 94, of Delavan, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023 at Pekin Manor.

She was born November 23, 1928 in Mackinaw to Joseph and Wilhelmina Sinn Weishaupt. She married Arthur J. Goeken on August 8, 1948 in Mackinaw, and he passed away July 3, 2010.

Surviving are her children, Doug (Kay) Goeken of Green Valley, Stan (Becky Demeny) Goeken of Tremont, and Jim (Joyle) Goeken of Troy; four grandchildren, Tony (Sarah) Goeken, Beth Goeken, Justice (Stacia) Goeken, and Jaggar (Jaclyn) Goeken; four great grandchildren, Aiden, Norah, Heidi, and Desmond Goeken; one step great grandson, Oliver Clement.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Hannah Goeken; three sisters, Rose Wettstein, Viola Augsburger, and Lucille Menold; and five brothers, Robert, Charles "Karlie", Herbert, Donald, and Joe "June" Weishaupt.

Elsie was a homemaker and cleaned houses for many people.

She was an active member of Delavan United Methodist Church and its Methodist Women, Delavan American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star Delavan Chapter, served as an election judge for many years, and was a past member of Tazewell County Home Extension.

She was a seamstress and enjoyed quilting.

Her funeral will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Delavan United Methodist Church. Pastor Charles Graul will officiate. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1:45 pm Thursday, also at the church. Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Delavan United Methodist Church or Pekin Manor.
