Richard H. Berth, Jr. age 80, of Peshtigo was called by his Savior on Sept. 25, 2011 at Bay Area Medical Center. Born on January 8, 1931, in Coleman, he was the son of the late Richard and Mary (Kienitz) Berth Sr.
He served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1957 on a wooden ship that served as a mine sweeper.
On Sept. 3, 1960, he married the former Cecelia A. Rivera. The couple recently celebrated 51 years together. He was employed at Piggly Wiggly in Coleman until he moved to Rennes Health Center in Peshtigo. He was an avid 3:00 p.m. card player.
Richard is survived by his wife Cecelia, a daughter Cynthia Hoida of Coleman, a son Rick (Peggy Ausloos) Berth of Peshtigo, 3 grandchildren, 2 step-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Burial in the St. John's Cemetery.
