Mrs. Sophie (nee Schroeder) Marx, 75, 2523 Walnut St., a life long resident of Blue Island died at the residence Easter Sunday.
Mrs. Marx was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Schroeder. Mr. Schroeder was one of the early settlers of the community having come here before the Civil War. She was born on Sept. 8, 1868.
Surviving is her husband, John Marx. A son preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon from the funeral home at 2601 Vermont st., and from the First Evangelical Lutheran church. Rev. Wm. Ferne, the pastor, officiated. Burial was at the Lutheran cemetery
