Edwin Klingman Obituary
A memorial service for Edwin Klingman, 84, of Portland OR, was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 11, at the Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. Donald Ganstrom officiating.
A private family graveside service was held at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
He died Sunday, January 5, 1997, of a heart condition.
Edwin Klingman was born September 5, 1912, the youngest son of Fred and Ernestine (Schacher) Klingman at Mound City, SD. He graduated from Herreid High School and Northern Teachers College in Aberdeen. He taught school in Campbell County, SD before going to Oregon. He worked in the shipyards as foreman during the war. After the war, he was the business manager of Local No. 1120 of the Millmen and Cabinet Union and an active member of the Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Florence, of Portland Ore; two daughters and one son-in-law, Connie and Dr. John Wobig and Diane Klingman, all of Portland, OR; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Tillie Heisler of Coquille, OR and five nephews and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Fred and Arthur.
Casketbearers were his grandchildren, Ronald Wobig, Roger Wobig, Ed Hartley and Michael Skiens.
