Mrs. Amanda Hale, 81, widow of Phillip Hale, and a life-long resident of Clinton county, died at her home in Michigantown Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock.

The daughter of James and Mary Ann (Billhymer) Ault, she was born in Hamilton county, April 6, 1858. She was first married in 1878 to Jacob Stoms who died in 1904, and in 1907 she was married to Phillip Hale whose death occurred in 1932.

Survivors are twin brothers, Jack and John Ault; a sister, Mrs. Nancy Brammell, and a foster daughter, Margaret Fulp, who has lived in the home of Mrs. Hale for the past 37 years, all residing in this county.

Private funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Goodwin Brothers Chapel with burial in the Whiteman cemetery near Michigantown.
