Eugene was born November 29, 1891 at the farm home of his parents, John and Clara Diemert Fischer, near Mt. Carmel. He and Mary Ann Meyers were married August 6, 1917. They farmed near Langdon until retiring about 1958 when they moved into Langdon.
They had nine children:
Neil Fischer of Grand Forks, who had farmed the former John Fischer farm, has six children.
Cyril Fischer owns the family farm and has two sons.
Mrs. Maurice Howatt of Hannah, deceased, had ten children.
Alton Fischer died November 6, 1969.
James Fischer, who has seven children, lives in Everett, Washington and works for Boeing Aircraft.
Iris (Mrs Lyle Lothspeich) has five children.
Delores was born June 18, 1932 and died March 15, 1957.
Janice (Mrs Gerald Zettel) had four children and lives in Menasha, Wisconsin.
Patricia (Mrs. Roy Nelson) has three children and lives in Sumner, Washington.
