She was a native of Macon County and the daughter of the late Lucius and Hattie Pannell McMahan. She was married to the late Frank Ammons, who died in 1979. She was a homemaker and a member of Watauga Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Frankie Browning of Franklin; three sons, Ellis Ammons, Bruce Ammons and Lewis Ammons, all of Franklin; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Ralph Ammons.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Bryant Funeral Home, with Rev. Wallace Tallent and Rev. Roy Lowe officiating. Burial will be at Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday evening at Bryant Funeral Home.
