Paul R. Sarchet, 77, of Cambridge, passed away Sunday (May 10, 2009) at his residence.
He was born June 17, 1931 in Guernsey County, son of the late Ralph H. and Sara Cathleen (Calvert) Sarchet.
Mr. Sarchet was a U. S. Army veteran, having served in Korea. He retired from the State of Ohio Department of Highway Safety, then worked at Christ Lutheran Church.
He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Liberty Grange 2783, Liberty Community Fire Department, Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center, Grace Pantry, Kimbolton Homecoming Committee, VFW Post 2901, American Legion and Cancer Copers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Anne Sarchet on March 30, 2007, and a brother Kevin Jones.
He is survived by two daughters, Deborah D. (Sean Hoxworth) Sarchet of Millersburg and Denise A. (Jason) Sarchet-Crider of Kimbolton; four grandchildren, Dawn A. Ace, Morgan E. Hoxworth, Ian E. Crider and Benjamin A. Crider; seven sisters, Laura Edna Weber of Kimbolton, Rebecka (James) Rodriquez of Riverside, Calif., Wanda Maust of Idaho, Judy (Bernard) Camp of Zanesville, Linda Turner, Nevada Jones and Dixie Sarchet of Newcomerstown and Randy Sarchet of Arizona; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Tuesday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Episcopal Church, Cambridge, with the Rev. John P. Brandenburg officiating.
Burial in Guernsey Memory Gardens. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
