"Coochie" , as he was known to many, graduated from Dresden High School on May 5, 1944 & left for the U.S. Navy on May 6, 1944. Returning home from World War II, he entered U.T. Martin Junior College from 1946-1948. He then enrolled and graduated from Murray State College in 1950. He met and married Lallie Lowery Hall in 1951.
His career was in Sales, spending 33 years with Kraft Foods Company. His jobs included Salesman (Memphis, TN), Account Rep (Miami, FL), Zone Manager (Houston, TX), District Manager (Norfolk, VA), Regional Sales Training/Merchandising Manager (Dallas,TX), National Sales Training Manager/Merchandising Manager (Chicago, IL), Cheese Product Sales Manager (Dallas, TX) and Area Sales Manager (Lubbock, TX).
Upon retirement in 1986 he & Lallie returned to Dresden. In December 2005 they moved to Franklin, TN to be near son Michael & daughter-in-law Cathy.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years Lallie, two sons Gary Hall & wife Pam, Michael Woods & wife Cathy; three grandchildren, Shannon Schabel & husband David, Charles W Hall & wife Lori, & Colin Michael Woods & wife Anne; five great grandchildren, Conner & Nathan Schabel, Maddison Jane, Faith Ann & Carter Hall.
Charles was a member of the Church of Christ and served as an Elder for 16 years.
The family wishes to recognize and thank the staff of NHC Franklin, for their around the clock care, love and support these last four months. Their work will forever be remembered.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Southside Church of Christ in Dresden, TN with burial following in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Friends may call at the church Friday morning from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM. A Fellowship meal will be in the church's Fellowship Hall from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM. Visitation will resume at 1:30 PM and continue until service time at 2:00 PM.
Officiating the services were C. Michael Woods, E. Claude Gardner, and Dan Chambers. Pallbearers were Gary Hall, Charlie Hall, Michael Woods, Colin Woods, David Schabel and Andy Mangum. Honorary Pallbearers were Conner Schabel, Nathan Schabel, and Carter Hall.
