FOUND DEAD. Miss Ellen Adams Expires Alone in Her Home. Miss Ellen Adams, aged fifty years, who lives alone at her home, 618 East Elm street, and was employed as a seamstress by local merchant tailors, was found dead last night about 9:45 o'clock in the kitchen at her home. It is thought her death occurred Monday night when she was last seen alive. Coroner C. A. Briscoe expressed the opinion that her death was due to heart disease and that she had been dead for some time when her body was discovered. Miss Adams lived in a part of the house occupied by Leonard Faris and family. They were commenting last night on the fact that she had not been seen since Monday evening and it was decided to make an investigation. Mr. and Mrs. Faris and J. P. Murphy, a neighbor, and Miss Ida Lindemann, who was visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Murphy, entered the woman's apartments and her body, fully clothed, was found in the kitchen. Miss Adams had been living alone since the death of her sister about five years ago. She leaves a nephew, William Clament, who lives at 2255 West Broadway, Louisville. - New Albany Evening Tribune 03 Oct 1912 [Note: Cemetery records give her age as 67 years; census records also place her birth about 1845-1846.]
