Funeral services for Amos Jack DeShields will be Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Highway Baptist Church on Highway 18 south of I-40. Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery.

Amos Jack DeShields was born November 5, 1927 southwest of Okemah. He passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at his home near Bearden at the age of 85.

Jack had been a resident of the Okemah area most all of his life. He and Elizabeth Peggy Bowen were married September 19, 1947. Jack enjoyed farming and ranching on his Rainbow Hills Ranch and was a successful entrepreneur. He was the owner and operator of DeShields Building Stone, DeShields Energy and was a former service manager for Sears for many years.

He is survived by his wife Peggy DeShields of the home; his son, Dennis Jack DeShields and wife Janice of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; his daughter, Sheila deShields and her husband David Ian Hildreth of San Jose, California; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah with Rev. Derryl DeShields and Bro. Manuel Kishketon assisting.
