ABILENE - The funeral for Marvin E. Bernhardt, 56, Gypsum, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Danner Funeral Home, Abilene, the Rev. Ray Stites officiating. Burial will be in the Abilene Cemetery.
Mr. Bernhardt died Sunday at the Valley View Professional Care Home, Junction City. He was born June 17, 1923, at Tampa. He had farmed south of Elmo for several years, and in 1972, he moved to Gypsum. Mr. Bernhardt was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, and a member of the Abilene Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Patty Smith, Salina, and Mrs. Peggy Rickman, Fishtail, Mont.; two sons, Marvin, Salina, and Jimmy, of Arkansas; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Bernhardt, Abilene; two brothers, Walter and Floyd, both of Salina; two sisters, Mrs. Delores Ruhter, Salina, and Mrs. Mary Marlatt, Abilene, and six grandchildren. Friends may call at the funeral home.
