Tom LeMay, age 93, of Peshtigo passed away on July 13, 2010 at Bay Area Medical Center of Marinette, WI. He was born on September 6, 1916 in Center Star, Alabama
He married Chloe Trivette on July 5, 1939 in Abington, Bedford Co., Virginia.
On March 15, 1958, he married the former Ruth (nee Hardin) Clemence in Cook County, IL and they lived happliy together for 39 years until her death on October 18, 1997.
Tom served his country as a Lieutenant Colonel during World War II. He was dropped behind Japanese lines in Burma where he gathered information and his actions earned him the Silver Star.
Tom was an accomplished musician and song writer and two of his songs were sung by Don Gibson in the 1960's. Tom was a professional engineer after the war and worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority and for Sergeant and Landy in Chicago. Among his accomplishments, he helped design the world's largest coal shovel.
Tom leaves behind two sons: Curtis (Caroline) LeMay and Steven (Elizabeth)LeMay;
a daughter Fay Holl;
7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren;
a brother Robert [died May 9, 2013]
and a sister Patsy Lynch. [also died May 9, 2013]
He was preceded in death by a sister Lorraine White and a son-in-law Harold Holl.
