NORTH MYRTLE BEACH - Graveside services for Helen Mallonee Dawes, 72, will be held at 1 p.m. today in Twin City Memorial Gardens in Loris. Memorial services will be held at noon Saturday at Shandon Presbyterian Church in Columbia. Officiating both services will be Dr. Tim Duncan of Columbia. Memorials may be made to the Thornwell Presbyterian Home and School for Children, P.O. Box 60, Clinton, SC 29325. Hardwick Funeral Home of Loris is in charge

Mrs. Dawes, of Columbia and formerly of North Myrtle Beach, died Wednesday afternoon at the Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia after an illness. Mrs. Dawes was born in Charlotte on Nov. 30, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Leslie Irvin Mallonee and Graham McCall Mallonee. Mrs. Dawes was a retired elementary school teacher, owner and operator of the Dawes Gallery in Myrtle Beach, former deacon at North Myrtle Beach Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Shandon Presbyterian Church of Columbia.

Surviving are her husband, Stonewall Watson Dawes of North Myrtle Beach; sons, Michael Dawes, Brian Dawes, both of Columbia; daughters, Leslie Dawes, Patricia Quattlebaum, both of Columbia; grandchildren, Megan Leslie Quattlebaum, Sarah Gail Quattlebaum, both of Columbia.
