Mrs. Dawes, of Columbia and formerly of North Myrtle Beach, died Wednesday afternoon at the Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia after an illness. Mrs. Dawes was born in Charlotte on Nov. 30, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Leslie Irvin Mallonee and Graham McCall Mallonee. Mrs. Dawes was a retired elementary school teacher, owner and operator of the Dawes Gallery in Myrtle Beach, former deacon at North Myrtle Beach Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Shandon Presbyterian Church of Columbia.
Surviving are her husband, Stonewall Watson Dawes of North Myrtle Beach; sons, Michael Dawes, Brian Dawes, both of Columbia; daughters, Leslie Dawes, Patricia Quattlebaum, both of Columbia; grandchildren, Megan Leslie Quattlebaum, Sarah Gail Quattlebaum, both of Columbia.
