Lenoir, NC – Mrs. Lillie Mae "Granny Mae" McLean Crane, age 73, of Lenoir, died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Born February 25, 1936 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Crane was a daughter of the late Sam and Ola Green McLean and the wife of the late James Dewey Crane, Sr.

Mrs. Crane was a member of Colliers United Methodist Church and had worked in the furniture industry.

Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Oscar and William McLean and 4 sisters, Edith Benge, Myrtle Tester, Charlotte Hartley and Nettie Howell.

She is survived by two children, Lavonda Watson of Lenoir; Kenny Crane and wife Audrey of Lenoir; 3 grandchildren, David Lackey, Danny Lackey and wife Tiffany and Nikki Crane, all of Lenoir; one step-grandchild, Josh Greene and 8 great-grandchildren, D.J., Bubby, Little Dave, Tyler, Jonathan, Brooklyn, Hailey and Jace.

A celebration of "Granny Mae's" life will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 23, 2011 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Bill Taylor and Reverend Joe Parker officiating.

A private burial will take place in Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
