Ethel Eunice Abney was born to Jesse Abney (1872-1949) and Sallie Annie Eskue (1878-1942). She married James Robert Jones. They had five children: Voyd James Jones (1915-1982), Louie Ray Jones (1917-1917), Jesse Carl Jones (1918-2001), Monroe Harrell Jones (1920-1995) and Jackie Jones.

She loved childen and was a wonderful seamstress.
