Thomas C. Harris died at his home in Shirleysburg on Tuesday night, March 20, at 11 o’clock. Death came suddenly. Mr. Harris was born at Concord, Pa., October 9, 1944. When 20 years old he came to Shirleysburg, where he resided all his life. He was a tanner and in early life worked at the old tannery in Germany Valley. He was married to Miss Charlotte A. Clark. His children are Mrs. C. H. Johnson of Wayside, Nebraska, Frank of Gordon, Nebraska, and Mrs. Frank Bard of Shirleysburg. Deceased was a member of the Presbyterian church and was a man held in high esteem. He was a solider, a member of Co. F, 19th Penn’s, Calvary. His funeral will be held on Friday at 1 o’clock in the Presbyterian church in charge of Rev. Kennedy. Interment in the Odd Fellows’ cemetery at Mount Union. By the request of the deceased, to be buried in the full honors of war, the veterans and sons are urged to be at the funeral. Undertaker Dunmire
