William Walcott, Jr., son of William Walcott and Mary Felt, was born on 23 Oct 1717 in Salem, Essex, Massachusetts, died on 24 Sep 1799 in Pomfret, Windsor, Vermont at age 81, and was buried in Burns Cemetery, Pomfret, Windsor Co., Vermont.

General Notes: WILLIAM became a member of the First Church of Attleboro in 1742. He was a highway surveyor and a grand juror there. In 1754 he obtained a house and land from his father. He sold this land to his brother, Benjamin, in 1757, and moved to Providence, Rhode Island.

William Walcott of Providence, together with John, Robert, and Asa Foster, applied for land at Lynn, near the present town of Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada, in 1761. In 1774, William Walcut was at Smithfield, Rhode Island, with a family of 3 males born before 1758, 1 male born after 1758, 1 female born before 1758, and 4 females born after 1758. In 1782 he was living with his daughter, Anna, and her family at Pomfret, Vermont. In 1790 William Walcott was at Pomfret with a househod of 2 males over 16 and 2 females. He built the first saw mill at Barnard, Vermont. He sold land at Barnard to his son, William, in 1791.

William married Esther Foster on 1 Mar 1750 in Cumberland, Providence Co., Rhode Island. Esther was born in 1721 in Salem, Essex Co., Massachusetts and died on 12 May 1808 at age 87.
