Mrs. Abernathy was born February 25, 1948 in Murphy, NC.
She is survived her husband, Edwin P. Abernethy of Huntersville; five daughters, Ann Edwards and husband, Dean of Lincolnton, Wanda Justice and husband, Rhoe of Mooresville, Martha Martin and husband, Jim of Concord, Zora Martinichio and husband, Patrick of Huntersville and Joyce Ward and husband, Clarence of Charlotte; her mother, Mazie B. Garrett of Taylorsville; two brothers; one sister, and eleven grandchildren.
