WELLINGTON, August 11 (Special)

The body of JAMES EDWARD MOODY, PVT, who died Feb.19, 1945, of wounds received while fighting the Germans in Luxemburg, will reach Wellington Thursday, August 12, and a service in his honor will be held Friday afternoon at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Howard Jones, pastor will officiate. Burial will be here. He was the youngest son of William and Annie Mae Moody of Wellington. Mrs Annie Moody passed away on 2/19/1945 just three months after James' death from grieving.
PVT Moody was born in the Plymouth Community, North of Wellington. He grew up there attending school at Samnorwood. His two brothers went to World War II also. His oldest (Waymon) escorted his body back to Wellington from the American Military Cemetery in Luxembourg where he was buried first.
Mr. Moody was inlisted into the US ARMY Sept. 4, 1944. He had been in action only five days when he was killed in action on Feb.17. He was sent to Fort Meade, M.D.., and went overseas in Jan. 1945. He was with the first Division of the 3rd Army, under Gen. George Patton.
Survivors are his father, William Henry Moody, mother, Annie Mae Moody, a sister, Viola B. Moody, husband Jack Colson; two brothers, Waymon Samuel and wife, Freda Moody; Conley Lee Moody, wife Lorene Moody, and several cousin and Aunt, Uncles in Parker County. Nieces, Anita, Rita Moody nephews, James, Ronnie Colson; Kenneth Moody all of Wellington, TX.
