This cemetery must have two names: Spring Valley Station Cemetery and Kirk's Chapel. Chester died of disease, smallpox. Family stated that it was such bad weather for his burial that the only cemetery accessible was Kirk's Chapel. Iirc, it was at the time a church with colored membership (how it was referred to at the time).

The church started out as a white congregation.School was held in the church building. One person known to teach there was Louis Gusmus. It later became Kirk's Chapel CME church.

It is a lovely little country church building, or was. It is abandoned now and the last time I visited the cemetery it was so overgrown with brambles and bushes that it could not be accessed.

Chester's father,Levi, had a sense of humor. See the son of LE & LE on the gravemarker? The second LE stands for Lou Ella Murray. Levi had no middle name, so he decided to just use the same middle initial that his wife had, therefore they were both LE Murray. Further, Chester's middle name is spelled Odus, as it is written in Lou Ella Murray's bible in her own handwriting.

I placed another memorial for Chester Odus Murray under the cemetery named Kirk Chape Cemetery. At the time he was buried it was named Kirk's Chapel CME Church. The memorial number at that cemetery is 123459730.
