Joseph Wilbur Spear, 80,of Maud, Texas, died Wednesday, November 10,2004, at his home. Mr. Spear was born August 10,1924, in New Boston. He was retired from Rockwell International and JCM Industries, a Mason and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceaded in death by one son, Joey Spear. Survivors include his wife, Lila Spear of Maud; three daughters, Ellen Spear of Baker, Ore., Christine Steptoe of Tyler, Texas, and Lonnie Creed of Redwater, Texas; one son, Gary Schwarck of Redwater; one brother, Leslie Spear of Indiana; four sisters, Pauline Rumbo of Maud, Oleane Hoffman of New Boston, Frances Gonzales of New Mexico and Lillian Walker of Killeen, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Rinnert and Tron Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Red Bayou Cemetery with Masonic and military rites.
