Mrs. Josephine Sophia Anderson died at noon Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Pearson, in Sibley. She had been ill several months.

The funeral was held at 1:30 P. M. Monday at St. John's Lutheran church here. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Edward Grosz officiated.

Josephine Pearson was born Nov. 19, 1862, near Falkenberg, Sweden, daughter of Anders and Severina Pearson, youngest of 11 children. She was baptised and confirmed in Sweden and came to LaFayette, Ind., early in June, 1881.

She remained in Indiana until her marriage to Alfred Larson of Strawn Oct. 16, 1890. One daughter was born to them. Her Husband preceded her in death in Nov. 6, 1892. In July 6, 1894 she was married to Peter Anderson, who died on Sept. 15, 1927.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Swedish Lutheran church in Sibley from its beginning. She was an active member of the Ladies Aid and a Sunday school teacher. Her entire life since 1890 has been spent near Strawn and Sibley.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Anna Pearson and one granddaughter, Helen Josephine Pearson. There also is a brother-in-law Olof Anderson in Chicago and one, Anders Everlof in Sweden. She also leaves 32 nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers were: Jacob Miller, Hermie Shives, Henry Hafer, Frank Hanson, Alfred Larson and Charles Munson. "The Old Ruged Cross", and "Say, ed by Grace", were sung by Misses Vera Meyer, Pauline Branz, Elise Brucker, Mrs. Joe Benway and Mrs. A. T. Larson.

Relatives atending from a distance were: Miss Anna Anderson of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Ernest of Peotone. Friends in attendance were: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Martin of Strawn, Mrs. Emma Vehrs, Anna Munson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Munson, Mrs. Amanda Frykman, Mr. and Mrs. John T. Swanson all of Gibson City; Mrs. Carl Johnson, Mrs. Thorsten Johnson of Bloomington; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kemnetz, Mr. John Benson, Mrs. David Amacher, Misses Kate and Augusta Knauer, Mrs. Herman Knauer, Miss Alice Ramsey, Mr. and Mrs. Hermie Shives, Mrs. John Lehmann, Miss Clara Lehmann, all of Strawn; Miss Sophie Rudolph, Mrs. J. W. Rush of Forrest; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schade of Fairbury and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Opperman of Piper City.
