DEATH OF MRS. GEORGE BARBER
"Then there fell upon the homes a sudden gloom,
A shadow on those features fair and thin;
And softly, from that hushed and darkened room,
Two angels issued, where but one went in."

With inexpressible sadness we note the death, which occurred at ten o'clock last night, of Mary, wife of the late George Barber. The deceased was a daughter of the late Andrew Zuck, a sister of John Andrew Zuck, Esq. and was born and always lived in Madison. She was 53 years of age, and was a lady held in high esteem by all who knew her, and her deth is deeply deplored. Six children, doubly orphaned, are left to mourn the loss of a dear, loving and devoted mother, and we feel sure the entire community will extend their warmest sympathies and commend them tot he care of Him who doeth all things well. Mr. Zuck, who has given a brother's earnest care and attention throughout her illness, feels sensibly the weight of this affliction, and is entitled to universal sympathy.

The funeral will take place from the family residence on Broadway at 9 o'clock Friday morning. Interment in Springdale Cemetery.
