John was survived by numerous nieces and nephews, but had no immediate survivors. He was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church, attended public schools at Snyder and Portland, AR and graduated from the University of Houston. He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the Army as a paratrooper in Europe and with the U. S. Air Force as a Navigator after the war. He retired with the rank of Major (disabled) in 1966.
Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. A military graveside service will be held at Beech Creek Cemetery at Snyder 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016.
