Nevada (MO) Daily Mail, Oct 29, 1910:
"Mrs. Martha Blankenship, who was so badly burned by an explosion of coal oil a week ago Tuesday, died at her home two miles and one half south of town Wednesday morning after a weeks suffering, says the Schell City News.

Mrs. Martha Blankenship was the wife of Louis [sic] Blankenship and a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J.T. Harvey. She was a young woman who was loved by all who knew her, and her untimely death is deeply felt by a score of friends. She leaves not only a devoted young husband, and loving parents but also a little child who will be deprived of a mother's love."

Tho the newspaper didn't say so, Martha was pregnant at the time and she gave birth to a stillborn female on Oct. 20, after she was burned. Martha's death certificate states that she was a daughter of Joshua Thomas Harvey, born Benton County MO and Melisa Applegate, born Windsor IL. Her son, Donald, was three years old. Lewis and Martha registered their marriage in Vernon Count Dec. 24, 1905. Note that Martha's husband and in-laws on Findgrave have names spelled Blankenship, but the grave markers spell it Blankinship
