Funeral Services for Anna Gorius who passed away on Aug 21, 1986 were held Aug 27, 1986 at the Hines Creek Gospel Mission with Pastor Bob Ayers officiating. Organist was Karen Burns and special music was provided by Becky Knoepfil (duet) and granddaughter Pollyanna Gorius (piano solo). Pallbearers were Reid Berg, Wilson Coon, William Makofka, Steve Tacht, Ed Schultz, and Ernest Tims. Burial was in Hinterland Cemetery at Hines Creek with Moran Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Anna Gorius (nee Burgeson) was born in Kensington, Minn on Mar 19, 1892. The Berguson family moved to Congress, Saskatchewan in and around 1897. Anna married Pliney Gorius and they had three sons. In 1929, the family moved to the Hines Creek area. Anna was active in many community activities and attended the Hines Creek Gospel Misson Church. After her husband's death in 1976, Mrs. Gorius was admitted to Whitelaw's Hotel Dieu where she resided until her death.
Predeceased by her husband; two brothers, Harry and Norman; one sister Esther Savage; Anna is survived by one brother Robert of Fairview, two sisters; Alice Gorius of Edmonton and Mabel Bronson of Great Falls, MT; three sons, William of Winnipeg, Gerald of Worsley and Lorne of Hines Creek; two grandaughters and several nephews and nieces.
