Mrs. Krapf passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009, at her home.
She was one of two daughters born to Russian immigrants, Samuel Perry Adese (1904) and Lillie (Schwartz) Adese, (1906). Pauline grew up in Davis and later moved to Purcell in 1944 where she graduated from Purcell High School in 1950. After high school she worked for her parents in their clothing store called Adese Dry Goods.
On Sept. 22, 1959 she married Joe L. Krapf, a young man from Purcell whom she had dated for 12 years. They made their home in Purcell and raised one daughter, Suzanne. In 1956, Joe and Richard Gray bought the Kennedy Drug Store in Purcell where Pauline worked for several years.
An active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Purcell and she had served on nearly every committee. For over 30 years she served as a Rotary Cook and was recently honored by the Club with a Paul Harris Fellowship Award. She was a Girl Scout Leader for two generations and a member of Okeyha Mothers Club.
Throughout her life, Pauline loved to fish for trout in the White River in Arkansas. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother and watching her grandchildren play sports.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Lillie Adese; her husband, Joe Krapf on Sept. 8, 1989; a sister, Rosalie Goodfriend, 1923-1985, Austin, TX., and an infant brother*, 1922-1922.
Survivors include: her daughter, Suzanne Wells and husband, Jeff, of Purcell; grandchildren, Alison and Adam Wells; brother-in-law, Louis Krapf of Purcell; two nephews, Gary and Alan Goodfriend; two nieces, Gay Rubenstein and Earla Kraph Tate.
Pallbearers: Gary and Alan Goodfriend, John Paul Schwartz, Darren Heckman, David Stanton and Greg Dixon.
Honorary bearers: Louis Krapf, Dr. Bryan Dye, Don Woolly, Joe Ellis, Charlie and Don Sherman, the Rotary Cooks and the Purcell Rotary Club.
Memorials: Purcell Rotary Cooks or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
*Her infant brother, b 1922 and d 1922, lies buried at Hillside, as well, but under the family's original name with spelling of Ades, #131744545.
