Mary Sue Norfleet, 68, of Clarksville, TN, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at St. Thomas Alive Hospice. She was born on August 25, 1944 in Montgomery County, Tennessee to the late Arthur W. Elrod and Dora Gwendolyn Devers Elrod. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Gwen Abbott.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Brother Harvey Turner, Brother Paul Nolan, and Brother Samuel Youngblood officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 4-8 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 4-8 p.m., and Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Sue was a homemaker, realtor, and owner of the Busy Bee Restaurant and Norfleet Rentals. She was a member of the Clarksville Church of God and Clarksville Realtors Association.
She is survived by her husband, Allen L. Norfleet of Clarksville, TN; son, Bret Allen Norfleet (Sheila) of Clarksville, TN; daughter, Kimberly Mackens (Clinton) of Clarksville, TN; two brothers, Paul Elrod of Grove, OK and Earl Elrod of Clarksville, TN; sister, Violet Tapper of Clarksville, TN; son-in-law, Kenneth Abbott of Clarksville, TN; seven grandchildren, Danielle Wall, Joshua Wall, Nicole Huff, Brandon Huff, Zachary Norfleet, Dallen Norfleet, and Jenna Sue Norfleet; four step-grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
