Death came here May 12 to Thomas Jefferson Valet, 76, and services were conducted May 15 at 2 o'clock in the chapel of Macy & Son, Rev. S. James Osborne officiating. Private burial services were at Mt. Crest Abbey, Salem.
Valet, who was born Jan. 22, 1870, at North Howell is survived by eight children. His parents were John and Marie Burnett Valet.
Survivors are Augustus J. Valet, Grand Ronde; Norman C. Valet of the navy; Thomas R. Valet, Corvallis; Lyle J. Valet, Ft. Lawton, Wash.; Jessie M. Warner, McMinnville; Lillian W. Burt, Oregon City; Marie V. McAnally, Portland; and Pauline H. Valet, Amity. A brother and sister, John Dempsey of Yachats and Marie Nelson of Los Angeles, also survive.
