HERE TODAY

Funeral services for Mrs. A. S. Davis
, 9O, of 1401 Bellevue Avenue
will be held this afternoon
at three P.M. at the
C. Homer Adams Chapel.
Burial will be in Northview Cemetery,
and members of the Board
of Stewards of the First Methodist
Church win serve as active pallbearers
and a n honorary escort
Adams Funeral Home is in charge
of arrangements.
Mrs. Davis died Monday morning
in a local hospital after having
been In declining health for
the past four years. She was the
former Emily Jane Anthony, daughter
of the late William Whitfield
Anthony and Isabel Samples
Anthony. Born in Houston,
Texas , Mrs. Davis spent most, of
her childhood In Wrightsville,
and after her marriage to the late
Augustus Swayne Davis, she lived
in Wrightsville and Jacksonville,
Fla , for a number of years.
For the past 30 years she had
made her home here with her daughter,
Mrs. A. T. Coleman. Mrs.
Davis' grandfather was the late
Rev. J . D. Anthony, known as the
"Bishop of the Wiregrass" and the
late Dr. Bascom Anthony was an
uncle.
Until her Illness she was an act
iv member of the First Methodist
Church.
