This community was grieved to learn of the passing of Mrs. Everett E. Kennedy which occurred at the family home 5 miles southeast of Linneus on Tuesday evening, April 14, 1936, following an illness of over a year and at the age of 63. Funeral services were conducted from the Hill Funeral Chapel at Brookfield last Friday afternoon by Rev. I.D. Borders, pastor of the Brookfield Presbyterian church, who spoke beautifully of the lovely christian virtues of the deceased. The attendance was large, the floral offerings lovely and many and, from parties who attended, we learn that it was a beautifully conducted service throughout, befitting the lovely character of the one in whose honor it was held. The following obituary notes have been furnished us.
