CHICOPEE - Alice G. Billips, 87, of 36 Parenteau Court, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at home surrounded by her family. Born in Holyoke on June 9, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Alice (Hickson) McDonald. She was a 1943 graduate of Commerce High School and worked as an office clerk for ten years at Westinghouse in Springfield and ten years at Sunshine Arts Studio in Springfield. Alice loved to bake and was an avid reader. Her husband of 48 years, Daniel W. Billips, died on November 28, 2001. Alice leaves two sons, Daniel Billips Jr. and his wife Theresa of Albemarle, NC and David Billips and his wife Kimberly of Chicopee; one daughter Janice Barrows and her husband James of Chicopee; one brother Edward McDonald and his wife Cecile of Springfield; one sister Elaine Glassford of Kingston, MI; seven grandchildren, Justin, Kristi and her fiance Mike, Ashleigh and her fiance Rudy, Laura, Kimberly, Amanda, and Katherine; three great grandchildren, Nathan, Olivia, and Sadie; and several nieces and nephews including one special niece Nancy Robbins. She was predeceased by her brother Clyde McDonald Jr. and sister Peg Robbins. The funeral will be held Friday, September 28, 2012 at 9am from the Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway Chicopee with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Anne's Church in Fairview section of Chicopee at 10am. Burial in Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
