No grave marker exists for Christian but he is listed next to his wife in the cemetery record. His grandson, Ezra R. Burkholder, wrote the following in 1893 from information given to him by Christian's sons, Daniel, Benjamin, and Samuel.

"Christian Burgholder [Burkholder]--son of Ulrich Burghalter [Burkholder] was born in Lancaster Co. Pa. on the 3rd of Feby. 1783. He removed to Waterloo, Waterloo Co. Ontario, Canada in 1818--where he died on the 29th day of December 1865, of old age--82 yrs-10 mo-26 days & was buried in the Mennonite Cemetery--near Berlin Ontario Canada. He was very healthy throughout the whole of his life. In youth however he had a heavy fever, & the Ague, & lost to some extent the power of hearing at a very early period in life. His occupation was farming & he was skilful (sic) in treating diseases of horses & cattle.
On the 20th day of May 1809 he was married to Elisabeth Baumann daughter of Joseph Baumann. Elisabeth Baumann was born in Lancaster Co. Pa. on the 28th day of August 1788--and died near Bridgeport, Waterloo Co., Ontario, Can., Sept. 8, 1861--Aged 73 yrs 11 days. She sleeps by her husband's side."

Note--the town of Kitchener was earlier called Berlin.
