WESTERNPORT, Md. -
Edward J. Costilow, 67, of 118 McKinley St, Westernport, Md., went home to be with the Lord on Monday March 6, 2006, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born September 11, 1938, in Thornton, W.Va., he was the son of the late Adzel Costilow and the late Bertha A. (Poling) Costilow Reese. A son, John Edward Costilow, also preceded him death.
Mr. Costilow was a United States Army Veteran, having served from 1956 to 1959. He retired from Westvaco Paper in 1996 with 37 years of service, having worked in the Pulp Mill. He was a member of Westernport Church of the Brethren.
Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, and four wheeling at his cabin on the South Branch. He was also an avid Dale Earnhardt fan.
He leaves behind his wife, Sheila (Hackett) Costilow; a son, Scott Costilow and wife, Rebecca, of New Creek, W.Va.; a daughter, Christine Costilow, of Keyser; a sister, Rosalie Matthews of Corapeake, N.C.; and seven grandchildren, Meagan Costilow, Jessica Costilow, James Costilow, J.T. Costilow, Avery Costilow, Ayden Costilow, and Timothy Grogg.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. William Shimer officiating.
Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
